Justin Corcoran is a 1990 graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, where he was named the most outstanding student of American Politics and Public Policy. In 1994, Justin received his Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law School of Union University, where he was an associate editor of the Albany Law Review. Justin is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and is an officer of the firm.
Justin is a trial and appellate lawyer who focuses upon representing physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases, defending manufacturers in product liability cases and defending against other tort cases such as premises liability, automobile negligence, construction accidents, defamation and municipal liability. He also practices employment law, representing employers in state and federal courts and representing professionals facing disciplinary actions. In addition to representing clients at trial in state and federal courts, Justin regularly appears before appellate courts and has successfully argued appeals in several precedent-setting cases, particularly in the area of medical malpractice.
Justin's public service has included an appointment as a special prosecutor and services as the chairman of the Albany County Ethics Commission. He has also represented clients in election law proceedings and advised candidates for public office regarding various compliance issues.
