Kayla Potter is a 2017 graduate of the University at Albany where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. She then went on to receive her J.D. from Albany Law School in 2020. While at Albany Law School, she served as the Managing Editor of the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology and served as the Student Trustee on the Albany Law School Board of Trustees. She also was selected to represent the law school at numerous Trial Advocacy Competitions, competing in competitions involving both civil and criminal matters. Kayla was also an active executive board member on numerous law school organizations.
Prior to joining O’Connor First, Kayla worked as an Assistant District Attorney with the Albany County District Attorney’s Office. There she handled and tried to verdict a variety of misdemeanor offenses. During law school, she served as a law clerk working on matters involving labor, education, employment, and workers compensation matters.
Kayla focuses her practice in the areas of civil and criminal litigation, representing defendants in the areas of premises liability, products liability, generally liability, medical malpractice, and criminal defense.
