Motorcyclists are often at greater risk of injury and death than those in cars. Anyone who has been injured in a motorcycle accident understands how dangerous riding the vehicles can be. But it's important for victims of motorcycle accidents to remember that they have the same rights as any other driver. If you are struck by a negligent driver, you have the same rights as car accident victims.
Motorcycling has risks. Of course, so does driving a car. Unfortunately, when motorcycle accidents occur, the results are usually more catastrophic than the aftermath of a car crash. In most cases, those aboard any type of motorcycle that is involved in an accident will often suffer from severe injuries that can sometimes result in a potentially permanent disability. Sadly, this is true for two young men who were involved in an accident while riding a dirt bike.
Recently a 22 year old motorcycle driver in Albany, NY, was killed as a result of extensive injuries sustained in an accident. A "Park & Fly' bus, driven by a 77-year-old man, turned left on Old Wolf Road from Albany Shaker Road Rd front of a 2006 Honda motorcycle, who was heading west on Albany Shaker Road, causing the motorcycle to strike the side of the bus.
An investigation is usually necessary to determine the cause of a motorcycle accident, even when there is no other vehicle involved. Usually the family of the victim would like to know what went wrong to cause the accident.
