Truck accident in New York leads to multiple vehicle pileup

On Behalf of | Jan 21, 2014 | Truck Accidents

Truck accidents can result in serious injuries, but sometimes those accidents are caused by things out of your control. Did you have to swerve to avoid someone? Did your brakes just fail to work? These are things that should be considered in any case. If your truck accident case is heading to court, you may want to speak with an attorney about your right to representation. You shouldn’t have to be charged for things that were out of your control or an act of nature.

If you’ve been watching the news, you probably have heard about the large pileup that happened on I-90. According to the news, the accident happened in the eastbound lane of I-90, and it caused the highway to be closed from Exit 45 to the New York State Line. The accident reportedly involved two semis that jackknifed on the side of the road, along with one box truck that rolled onto its side. One car was also involved, and it had to be towed away on a flatbed.

According to the news, there were several emergency crews that responded to the scene, but they did not announce any serious injuries. It was thought that the ice and snow on the roads may have led to the accidents, and the higher speed limit on the highway may have also played a role.

It would be easy to blame the drivers in these situations, but really, ice and snow sometimes gather quickly, and roads can be unpredictable. If you’ve been charged in an accident that wasn’t your fault, you may want to seek a defense to protect yourself.
